What is mental health?
It’s normal to get upset or worried sometimes, that’s part of life. Having good mental health simply means that you are able to enjoy the good times, but it also means you are able to cope better when times are bad. You can look after your mental health by learning helpful ways to handle whatever life throws at you and this can be done by clicking on the links in this section to find out information and ways to help you to keep positive mental health.
Within this mental health section it is really important that if you are affected, either directly or indirectly by any of these issues, then please contact us to talk things through.
What We offer
We offer different types of support depending on your needs. After your first appointment, we will suggest which type of support you might benefit from and will talk you through your options.
We can offer you a weekly chat with a member of our team about your emotional wellbeing to get things off your chest and help you find ways of coping.
This might include if you are feeling worried, anxious, upset and feel you need to talk to someone about anything that is bothering you.

We might suggest that you would benefit from our counselling service which is slightly different to emotional support.
Talking over your problems to a stranger may seem weird and embarrassing. Our Counsellors are trained specialists who can help you discuss the things which are causing you distress, uncertainty, confusion and a great deal of many other issues that are impacting on your life and may be holding you back.
We offer a non judgemental, safe environment to have these discussions.
‘Will the Counsellor tell my parents, carers or teachers what is being discussed?’
No, the information you give will not be discussed out with The Corner without your permission, unless we are worried about your safety or someone else’s. This would be discussed with you.

How to get support
We operate a self referral system at The Corner; this means that we only take referrals from the young person who is requesting support.
You can make a referral by phoning us on 01382 206060, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or booking an initial appointment here.
Contact us here at The Corner for support or/and advice if you are worried about yourself or someone you know.
Our Wellbeing Boxes
We launched our Wellbeing Boxes initiative at the beginning of 2021 after experiencing an increasing amount of young people accessing our services due the effect lockdown had on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Over 800 young people across Dundee have received their own wellbeing box so far, but this is a service that we are still continuing to deliver.
If you are aged 11-25 and would like to receive your own wellbeing box, please download and complete our form here by telling us a bit about how you would benefit from one of our wellbeing boxes. These can be returned to email@example.com or written in an email. If you are unable to access this digitally, please contact us and ask to speak to Rhea.

Togetherall provides safe, anonymous, online support 24/7, with a supportive community, information and self-help resources, and trained professionals online at all times. Find out further info here.
