Your Voice Heard – World Mental Health Day 2021

To coincide with this year’s World Mental Health Day, Student Nurse Ian Black, who is on placement with us at The Corner, has designed a brand new window display: Your Voice Heard.

The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day is “Mental health in an unequal world”, highlighting the issues that perpetuate Mental Health inequity both locally and globally. Taking this stance, we at The Corner decided to create a health promotion window that places an emphasis on having “your voice” heard in an unequal world.

With ever increasing evidence, the correlations between good physical health and good mental health are becoming apparent. As we celebrate 25 years of delivering a young people’s health and well being service in the heart of Dundee, we continue to provide a service which combines both physical and mental health services at a local level for young people aged between 11 and 19.

We offer services in, but not limited to; sexual health, including STI Screening, wellbeing advice and support, crisis support and 1:1 counselling. We pride ourselves on delivering this in a person centred, holistic, non judgmental and strictly confidential manner.

To access our services, you can call 01382 206060, email tay.office.corner@nhs.scot, use our live chat at the bottom right hand corner of this page between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday or book a telephone appointment here.

In the lead up to World Mental Health Day this year, we also had a cuppa and a chat after one of our weekly’s team meetings. We talked about how the last 18 months has affected our mental health and that it’s important to keeping checking in with friends, family or colleagues.

We would encourage you all to grab a cuppa, have a chat with someone you trust, or give us a call!
